Festival History
The first Spring Fling in 2002 was originally a social event sponsored by the Kirkwood Neighbors' Organization. Activities included a picnic and softball game at the current Festival location, Bessie Branham Park. These activities were the foundation for the Spring Fling festivities for a number of years.
In 2005, the neighbors wanted to rebuild the Bessie Branham playground. In a fundraising effort, the Kirkwood Neighbors' Organization voted to change the traditional Spring Fling to the current format of the festival to raise funds for the project and to utilize it going forward as a revenue source for the community. The board also added the Tour of Homes to show off our amazing architecture and history.
Below are photos of past years' events!
